Swedish stock volumes of roundwood and wood chips increased by 1% in 2Q

Sep 21, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Swedish stocks of coniferous sawlogs, pulpwood and wood chips is estimated to amount 8.9 million m³ (cubic metres solid volume excluding bark) as at 30 June 2015. A slight increase by 1% compared with the 2Q 2014, as Swedish Forest Agency said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Stock volumes of coniferous sawlogs are estimated to amount 2.9 million m³. Compared with same time frame as last year there is a decline by 12%. The stock volumes of coniferous sawlogs declined in all wood balance regions with the exception of region 3, where it increased by 18%.

The total stocks of pulpwood amounted to 5 million m³ as at 30 June 2015 which is a rise by 12% compared to the same time frame of the year before. As per assortment pulpwood stocks was: 3.2 million m³ of mixed coniferous, 0.9 million m³ of spruce and 0.9 million m³ of broadleaved. Spruce pulpwood increased by 21%.

The stock volumes of wood chips are estimated to amount 1 million m³. This is a 6% decline compared to 30 June 2014.
