The Mullican Lumber closes its Ronceverte sawmill operation by the end of March

Jan 06, 2009. /Lesprom.com/. The Mullican Lumber Co., one of Greenbrier County’s largest employers, plans to close its sawmill operation by the end of March, citing the slumping national economy, Lesprom Network informed according to Register-Herald. Terry Brennan, Director of sawmill operations, issued a statement saying the mill will cut back from two shifts to one and then cease production altogether within eight to 10 weeks. It’s not clear how many employees will be affected, or what this means for Mullican Flooring, located near the sawmill. The Mullican Lumber is one of the leading U.S. manufacturers and exporters of lumber and has over 475 employees which produce and distribute American hardwoods in the U.S. and to over 60 countries.
