U.S. total kraft paper shipments in June 2016 were 137.8 thousand short tons, 8.5% lower compared to June of last year, which had the highest shipment volume in 2015, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.
Bleached kraft paper shipments increased from 7 thousand short tons in May to 7.7, while unbleached kraft paper decreased from 131 to 130.1 thousand short tons.
Overall, shipments in the first half of 2016 were 2.4% lower compared to the same period in 2015. Total month-end inventories decreased from 79.2 to 68.6 thousand short tons.
