WEPA Hygieneprodukte GmbH has signed a contract to acquire all shares in Van Houtum Group Holding B.V., located in the Netherlands. The contracting parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. This takeover would turn WEPA into a major player in the Away-from-Home (AfH) sector, with a turnover of over Euro 180 million, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Martin Krengel, CEO of the WEPA Group, explains: “We are looking forward to further develop with Van Houtum an AfH-specialist rooted in tradition and the Satino brand in the WEPA Group. WEPA intends on expanding the Satino brand and the private label offering, especially from the specialized AfH-locations in Müschede, Piechowice and Swalmen, as well as to offer from a single source.”

Van Houtum produces in Swalmen, in the Netherlands, with 200 employees exclusively for the Away-from-Home (AfH) segment achieving a turnover of Euro 60 million.

The WEPA Group is one of the three largest providers in the European tissue market, with over 3,000 employees and a turnover of approx. Euro 1 billion.
