Brazilian pulp and paper company Aracruz Celulose announced on Friday that it plans to invest BRL 660 million ($304.9 million) this year, of which BRL 170 million ($78.5 million) will be spent on increasing the installed capacity of its Espírito Santo plant by 200 000 tonnes per year, while the remaining BRL 490 million ($226.2 million) will be invested in maintenance and improvements, Gazeta Mercantil reported.
So far this year the company has produced 3 million tonnes of pulp. Aracruz currently exports 98% of its output.
