Kastamonu passed the PEFC and CARB/TSCA Title VI certification audit

Kastamonu has confirmed the validity of international certificates confirming high environmental quality of its products with a minimum content of formaldehyde (CARB/TSCA Title VI) and compliance with the requirements of the forest certification system (PEFC). The audit was passed in relation to the validity of previously obtained CARB (California Certificate) / TSCA Title VI and PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) certificates of compliance, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

As a result of the audit by the independent laboratory, it was found that Kastamonu manufactures products with a formaldehyde content not higher than 8 mg per 100 g of board.

In turn, the PEFC certificate guarantees the legality of the wood origin used in the production. This certificate confirms that wood products are produced from objectively certified forests in accordance with European criteria and requirements.

“Our achievement in the Russian and European markets is that all the boards are guaranteed to correspond to the E1 emission class. In addition, the company is constantly developing new methods for reducing formaldehyde in boards, which allows us to produce MDF/HDF boards with formaldehyde levels below 8 mg/100g. Moreover, being a responsible forest user, Kastamonu not only undergoes the PEFC and FSC environmental certification, but also works regularly with suppliers of raw materials, encouraging them to be more actively involved in this process,” noted Ali Kılıç, General Director of Kastamonu in Russia.

Compliance of Kastamonu products with required quality characteristics is regularly confirmed at the level of Russia by certificates of conformity, as well as in neighboring countries and the EU (CE certificate of conformity). This work carried out at the plant allows to create competitive advantages of the products in foreign markets.

Kastamonu specializes in the manufacturing of MDF wood boards, particleboards, laminate flooring, door skin panels, and glossy panels.
