Russian newsprint producer Volga plans to export 180,000 tonnes in 2016

Nov 06, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Russian newsprint producer Volga Paper Company has been consistently introducing new technologies to maintain its competitive position in the market, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The first step here was the conversion to a new furnish at PM8. Starting from April 2015, PM8 newsprint is manufactured from 100% TMP. The changeover to 100% TMP furnish has brought about a leap in newsprint quality which was immediately felt by the customers.

In June 2015, Volga was included in the list of ‘backbone’ companies of national industries prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. It will enable the Mill to take advantage of additional government support to finance new production and technological projects, as well as modernize the facilities.

PM8 is in stable operation and provides regular volumes of high-quality newsprint to domestic and foreign customers. Considering an increased demand for Volga’s improved newsprint on export markets, the mill aims to ensure the highest possible level of service and flexible customer-oriented approach for its major partners. At a time when the newsprint market is volatile, the well-established partnership relations may be an additional key to reliable operations and mutually advantageous cooperation.

In 2016, Volga is planning to export 180,000 tonnes under existing contracts.

Volga Paper Company is one of the leading newsprint producers in Russia with supplies to more than 70 countries worldwide.
