Timber production by Russian IlimSeverLes up 17% in first 9 months of 2004

Russian IlimSeverLes (Arkhangelsk region, owned by Ilim Pulp) increased timber production 17% to 1.6169 million thousand cub m in first 9 months of 2004 compared with the prior period in 2003, Ilim Pulp spokesperson told Lesprom.ru. Logs removal increased 17.2% to 1.945 million cub m. Kotlassky pulp and paper received 14% cub m of timber more to 1.44 million cub m. By the end of 2004 IlimSeverLes intends to produce 2.3 million cub m of timber, 20% of the total volume will be produced using Timberjack equipment. In 2005 up to 40% of the total volume will be produced using Timberjack. 24 multioperational Timberjack machines are currently operating on IlimSeverLes enterprises. The company intends to double the fleet of Timberjack machines.
