Wood processing company UAB Juodeliai, production unit in Marijampolė, and for the first time in the Baltic States, has been equipped with a tomograph that will allow raw wood to be used even more efficiently. Using the X-rays, each log will be assessed not only on its exterior, but also on its internal structure. This investment of over Euro 3 million is implemented together with a long-standing Italian partner Microtech.

A technology called “CT Log” will help to shorten the production process. Due to its exceptional function to determine the geometric parameters of wood under the bark, the technology will significantly contribute to improving the quality of wood products.

An interesting thing is that “CT Log” can distinguish a type of wood without human intervention, which will help to meet the particularly specific needs of customers.
