Swedish Willwood AB, owned by the Hermansson family, has acquired flooring manufacturer Stigma Hyvleri, Martin Hermansson, a member of the Board of Directors of Willwood AB, said Lesprom Network.

This is Willwood's second acquisition in the pine and spruce solid flooring market, and in 2021 the company acquired GAPRO's Kallinge (Sweden) facility, formerly part of Södra Interior. The combination of GAPRO and Stigma makes Willwood AB the largest manufacturer of solid pine and spruce flooring in Scandinavia and Europe, with nine production lines with a total capacity of 4 million m2.

Prior to the deal, Stigma Hyvleri AB was owned by Profura AB and its CEO Besim Shulemae. The Hermansson family also owns Lillevrå Såg AB in Sweden.

“This acquisition provides synergies between companies that complement each other well: the niche production and distribution of Stigma flooring in Denmark and Germany, as well as Willwood AB's wide range of GAPRO-branded flooring, cladding and trim, which can be seen other major Scandinavian DIY players,” said Geran Lundgren, CEO of Willwood AB.

“The investment made at the Kalling plant has created a leading player in the interior wood segment. We now combine the resources and know-how of Willwood AB and Stigma AB, and as a result, we can offer an interesting range of products to Scandinavian and European end consumers under premium brands with direct supply to European DIY chains,” said Besim Shulemaya, CEO of Stigma Hyvleri AB. According to him, the company plans to increase the production of brushed and painted pine flooring.

In early summer, Besim Shulemaya will replace Geran Lundgren as CEO of Willwood AB. Geran Lundgren will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of Willwood AB.
