In second quarter 2006 net income of US producer of workplace furniture Steelcase Inc. was $26.6 million, or $0.18 per share, compared to $13.8 million, or $0.09 per share a year earlier. Quarterly revenue rose by 12.3% year-on-year to $789.7 million (with analysts forecasts of $781.2 million). Steelcase forecasts third quarter income of $0.14-0.19 per share. Sales are forecasted to grow by 5-9% year-on-year. Analysts note, that company’s profit growth is related with total activating on workplace furniture market in USA, which began to show in second half of 2005. In 2001-2003 US market of workplace furniture was in recession.
