Jan 16, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. According to the financial director of Brazilian pulp and paper company Aracruz Celulose SA, Isac Azgury, in 2006 Asia's demand will remain steady while European demand should grow on account of the economic recovery seen by several European countries. Based on this scenario, Aracruz is planning to raise the price of its products this year. In the final quarter of 2005 Aracruz was charging BRL 1.349 ($0.06) per tonne of pulp.
Aracruz Celulose is the world's leading producer of bleached eucalyptus pulp. The company is responsible for 30% of the global supply of the product, used to manufacture printing and writing, tissue, and high value added specialty papers.
