Belarus' January GDP up 3.6% on year, stats ministry says
Belarus' inflation in January was 6.1%. Cumulative inflation for 2001 totaled 38.8%. The ministry said that industry accounted for 30.1% of the GDP in January, transportation and communications for 17.3%, trade and catering industries for 8.9%, the construction industry for 3.8%, and the agricultural sector for 2.2%.
MINSK, Feb 20 /Prime-TASS/ -- Belarus' gross domestic product /GDP/ rose 3.6% on the year in January, totaling 1.494 trillion Belarussian rubles, the republic's Statistics and Analysis Ministry said Wednesday.

Separately, the Belarusian ministry said that companies based in the republic produced 155,900 tonnes of oil in January, up 0.2% on the year, and 2.4 billion kilowatt-hours of power, down 2.2%. Also in January, domestic oil refineries produced a total of 109,800 tonnes of gasoline, down 21.9% on the year, 363,800 tonnes of diesel fuel, up 25.5%, 501,000 tonnes of industrial fuel oil, up 48.8%, and 9,600 tonnes of motor oil, down 24%. /1,660 Belarussian rubles – U.S.$1/
