Bob McLellan appointed new President of European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers

Dec 12, 2008. /Lesprom.com/.FEFCO (European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers) announced the appointment of Bob McLellan as the new FEFCO President. He succeeds John Williams, who accepted a new position as President and CEO at Domtar (Canada). The FEFCO General Assembly has elected Phil Almond (President of SCA Packaging Europe) as its Vice-President and Treasurer. Bob McLellan has been with DS Smith PLC for the past 14 years. He is currently Chief Executive of the Packaging division of DS Smith in the UK (since 2001) and previously he was with Reed Corrugated Cases. He has successfully led significant acquisitions, integration programmes for Smiths. Prior to joining the Paper and Corrugated Sector he held various senior roles in the Glass Industry. For years, Bob has been actively involved in association work and is currently President of the Confederation of Paper Industries in the UK covering Paper, Corrugated, Recovered Paper and the Tissue Sector. He has been on the FEFCO Board for five years. In addition, he was voted “CEO of the year” in 2007 by the UK Packaging industry. Mr. McLellan says he will be seeking to continue the good work of previous Presidents, particularly the market facing initiatives in order to ensure the ‘green credentials’ of corrugated are recognised by Brand owners, Retailers and Consumers. He believes there are many areas of common purpose that can benefit customers and help the industry to better understand what end users want. FEFCO (European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers) represents the interests of the European Corrugated Board Manufacturers. Headquartered in Brussels, FEFCO has 24 active members, all European national corrugated packaging organisations.
