CMPC Madera invests US$20 million in wood plant
May 11, 2005. CMPC Madera (Chile), the wood arm of CMPC, plans investments of $20 million in a wood processing unit to produce frames, blocks, and other items of dry pinewood. Construction works start on August and production by mid 2006 initially processing 24 cubic meters of wood per hour and later on expanding to 40 cubic meters per hour.

CMPC Madera has scheduled investments of $100 million for 2005, of which US$26.5 million to a saw mill at Mulchen, and to set up a plywood unit and acquire new machinery & equipment.
