Jan 20, 2009. /Lesprom.com/. Canfor Corporation announced that due to the continued poor softwood lumber markets, it will be taking a one week curtailment at its Houston, Radium, Vavenby, Quesnel and Rustad sawmills commencing January 26, 2009. This decision will reduce Canfor's annualized lumber production by approximately 29 million board feet, the company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network.

Canfor is a leading integrated forest products company based in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC) with interests in BC, Alberta, Quebec, Washington state, and North and South Carolina. The company is the largest producer of softwood lumber in British Columbia while also producing oriented strand board (OSB), remanufactured lumber products and specialized wood products.
