Apr 06, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. The North American customer Martco Limited Partnership recently bought an OSB production forming and press line from Dieffenbacher. Thus, Martco decided in favour of another OSB-line with Dieffenbacher equipment. With this production line No.8 for 12 foot wide OSB panels Dieffenbacher will further strengthen his market leader position for such extra class OSB production lines. At the new 800 MMsft/a OSB Megasite, Martco will install a 12 x 26 ft multi-opening press with 14 openings. The Dieffenbacher scope of supply includes latest design features which significantly improve the product quality. The new generation forming station contains scales integrated in the forming bins for accurate mat weight control. This enables the reduction of the board density and consequently offers savings in raw material costs. The combination line provides the ability to change the masterpanel length between 24 and 26 ft. Due to its high capacity hydraulic system the press enables fast closing and compaction speed, which provides increased press capacity and an improved density profile of the board. The integrated special steam venting system speeds up the press cycle by completely removing the venting stages. Special design features care for minimization of the well known problem of plugging of the heating platen venting holes while working with wood species like "southern yellow pine" with a high natural resin content. Automatic online Flexoplan screen caul cleaning and a caul exchange station as well contribute to achieve constant board quality and low maintenance cost. The new plant will be built near Oakdale, Louisiana, and production will start in 2006.
