Egger starts construction of its new wood-based materials plant in the US

Egger is starting construction work on its new wood-based materials plant in Lexington, North Carolina, USA, on schedule. Construction work is progressing according to plan, with completion scheduled for spring 2019. There will be space for approximately 80 administrative employees, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The state-of-the-art chipboard plant with lamination capacities is scheduled to go on stream by the end of 2020. This first project phase involves an investment volume of around Euro 260 million and will create 400 direct jobs within the next 6 years.

The site will play a decisive role in Egger's growing presence in the North American market for wood-based materials. Having a local production plant will secure product availability for Egger customers in the region and increase speed of delivery.
