Finnish forest industry's exports grew 36% in April

The forest industry's April exports grew 36% from the previous year – this increase boosted the entire export sector of Finland into growth territory for the first time in a year and a half, Finnish Forest Industries Federation said in a statement received by Lesprom Network.
Overall exports grew 7% from April 2009. The aggregate value of forest industry exports in January-April 2010 was Euro 3.1 billion, 12% more than in the corresponding period of 2009.
The wood products industry's exports were valued at Euro 0.6 billion and the pulp and paper industry's at Euro 2.5 billion. The forest industry accounted for 21% of overall goods exports.
