Producer prices were up 0.4% in September compared with August, and up 1.6% year-on-year due to higher prices of oil products, processed metals, and chemicals and chemical products, Statistics Finland said. The rise was held back by lower prices of electronic and electrical products, it said. Import prices increased by 6.7% compared with September one year ago due to 29.2% higher prices on energy products, and due to 9.4% higher commodities prices, said the agency. The rise of the import price index was curbed by lower prices of consumer durables, it said. Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 1.6% in the year. Export prices rose by 0.4% from August to September. The rise was particularly accelerated by higher prices of sawn timber, processed metals and oil products, it said.
