Ilim Group is expanding its presence on the Russian corrugated packaging market. In May 2016, Ilim Group became the main owner of Gofra Dmitrov, which boasts a Moscow region production facility, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Ilim Group already owns Ilim Gofra in the Leningrad region, and the acquisition of another asset doubles Ilim's corrugated packaging production capacity: the group now has a total annual capacity of 290 million square metres per year. The decision to expand the corrugated packaging business was taken in line with the company's broader development strategy.
“We believe the Russian corrugated packaging production market is promising and profitable from an investment perspective,” said Ilim Group’s CEO Franz Marx. “That is why we decided to become one of the owners of Gofra Dmitrov. By managing two modern corrugated packaging production facilities located right near the main markets for this product – Moscow and St. Petersburg, we will be able to offer our clients better logistics, an improved range and quality of product, thus winning a unique market niche.”
Gofra Dmitrov is a modern production facility that produces the full cycle of corrugated packaging that is located in Dmitrov, in Moscow region and boasts over 200 employees. It has a design capacity of 150 million square metres of product per year.
Ilim Gofra is a modern plant producing corrugated packaging, situated in Kommunar, in Leningrad region. It has over 260 employees and a production capacity of 140 million square metres per year.
