Jan 31, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. In 2006 Ligatne paper mill (Latvia) posted turnover of LVL 2.8 million ($5.2 million), up 18.5% year-on-year. Loss widened to LVL 57 000 ($106 000), enterprise’s board member Sandijs Abolins-Abols said. He attributed turnover growth to increase of production volume. The company hasn’t managed to reach turnover growth target due to engineering problems with old equipment. Abolins-Abols said that losses were due to price increase for energy supply and wages increase. He declined to forecast operating results for current year. 20% of Ligatne production is delivered on domestic market, 15% - in Estonia, 5% - in Lithuania. The rest is exported to Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, Ukraine and the USA.
