Kvaerner Pulping and FFE Minerals in Brazilian recausticizing alliance
The agreement implies that Kvaerner Pulping, through its subsidiary Kvaerner do Brasil, will handle sales and service of FFE Minerals' lime reburning equipment for the Brazilian pulp and paper industry. The agreement is effective from 1 October 2004.
Sep 22, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. Kvaerner Pulping, part of the Aker Kvaerner group, and FFE Minerals have signed an alliance agreement for the Brazilian market. The agreement implies that Kvaerner Pulping, through its subsidiary Kvaerner do Brasil, will handle sales and service of FFE Minerals' lime reburning equipment for the Brazilian pulp and paper industry. The agreement is effective from 1 October 2004.
Kvaerner Pulping and FFE Minerals have worked together to supply complete recausticizing facilities throughout the world for many years. The new alliance imply that recausticizing and lime reburning work forces are joined and gathered under one roof, the Aker Kvaerner office in Curitiba.
"This agreement is an important part of the investments Kvaerner Pulping is doing within the reacusticizing area. As a result, Kvaerner Pulping can now offer complete recausticizing plants, including EPC solutions, in Brazil," says Mikael Forslund, vice president recausticizing, Kvaerner Pulping.
"Kvaerner Pulping has good experience of recausticizing and production of white liquor. They are also well-acquainted with the Brazilian pulp and paper industry. We are therefore convinced that we could not have put our products in better hands," says Anders P. Jшrgensen, general manager pulp & paper technology, FFE Minerals.
Kvaerner Pulping and FFE Minerals have previously signed a co-operation agreement for the Japanese market. In addition there are ongoing discussions for the establishment of similar arrangements in other markets.
