The General Assembly of Brussels-based European Confederation of Woodworking industries, CEI-Bois aisbl, has re-elected its Chairman and Vice-Chairman and appointed new Board members. These appointments took place in the context of the European federation’s Annual General Assembly, held at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels. Matti Mikkola, Senior Vice-President at Stora Enso Wood Products, was re-elected as Chairman of CEI-Bois. Ladislaus Döry, Chairman of EPF and spokesperson of the Austrian panel industries, was reconfirmed as Vice-Chairman of the association for the next two years, in line with the statutory provisions. The General Assembly expressed its strong gratitude to the leaving Board members Messrs Gil Covey, Francisco Huidobro, Fernando Rolin and Roberto Snaidero. CEI-Bois, the European Confederation of woodworking industries, was founded in 1952 and represents the interests of the European woodworking industry, which includes more than 380,000 companies generating an annual turnover of Euro 300 billion. The primary goal of CEI-Bois is to further the interests of the European wood sector and to this end, it aims to influence EU policy-making. It is the main body representing and defending the interests of the European woodworking and furniture industries towards the European Union.
