Metsä Wood starts statutory labour negotiations at Suolahti and Punkaharju birch plywood mills in Finland. Negotiations concern the adaption of birch plywood production to the current market situation, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The negotiations include a plan to have layoffs at Punkaharju mill for a maximum of 75 days and at Suolahti mill for the time being. The needed layoffs are planned to take place during 2019.
