Net sales by the Myllykoski Group in the first half of 2007 totalled Euro 735 million, which is the same level as in the corresponding period in 2006 when it were Euro 745 million. Net sales in April-June 2007 came to Euro 362 million. Net sales in the first quarter of 2007 totalled Euro 374 million.
Operating profit for January-June was Euro 6 million, or 0.8% of net sales compared with Euro 20 million and 2.6% a year ago. Operating profit for April-June 2007 amounted to zero. Operating profit for the first quarter of 2007 was Euro 6 million and 1.6%.
The loss for January-June 2007 was Euro 5 million, compared with a profit of Euro 3 million in the corresponding period last year. The loss for April-June 2007 was Euro 6 million. The profit for the first quarter of 2007 was Euro 1 million.
Myllykoski is a family-owned international paper group with manufacturing in Finland, Germany, Switzerland and the United States and sales offices around the world. The group's products consist of wood-containing uncoated and coated publication papers, including newsprint. Myllykoski is the third largest producer of SC papers in the world and is among the top five in coated mechanical grades. Myllykoski operates nine paper mills with a total annual capacity of 2.8 million tons, including the alliance partner Rhein Papier GmbH. The group companies employ approximately 3 300 people.
