OneFortyOne extends halt on sawlog exports from its estate until at least 2020

Australia's OneFortyOne announced that as a result of strong domestic demand it has advised customers that there will be no sawlog exported from its estate until at least June 2020. This is a continuation of the position taken 12 months ago by the company.

OneFortyOne’s Executive General Manager Cameron MacDonald said: “This is the strongest domestic market we have seen in over 15 years. Whilst local demand remains strong, we will continue to support the local industry by retaining the sawlogs onshore, being mindful not to compromise the long-term sustainability of the forest.”

OneFortyOne is a leader in the Australian forestry industry. It holds long-term harvesting rights to a softwood plantation estate in the Green Triangle region comprising over 80,000 hectares.
