Petrolesport, German company plan $140-mln container terminal
St. Petersburg-based timber port operator Petrolesport and the Hamburg port's largest operator Hamburger Hafen- und Lagerhaus have signed a declaration on intent to develop Petrolesport's $140-million container terminal project, according to Petrolesport's report obtained by Prime-Tass.
ST. PETERSBURG, Feb 18 /Prime-TASS/ - St. Petersburg-based timber port operator Petrolesport and the Hamburg port's largest operator Hamburger Hafen- und Lagerhaus have signed a declaration on intent to develop Petrolesport's $140-million container terminal project, according to Petrolesport's report obtained by Prime-Tass.
As a result of the ten-year project, the terminal's throughput is expected to reach 500,000 TEUs /20-foot container equivalent/.
In addition, Petrolesport plans to expand its cold storage facilities, including a 4,000-tonne refrigerator, which is to be commissioned on April 12.
In January, Petrolesport's cargo turnover fell 1% on the year to 217,900 tonnes, including a 43% slide in container shipments to 60,000 tonnes /5,708 TEUs/.
