Nov 04, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. The Board of Directors of Western Forest Products announced that Reynold Hert has resigned as President and CEO, effective immediately. He will continue to assist the company in certain areas going forward to ensure an orderly transition. Dominic Gammiero, a Western Director and an executive with 30 years of forest industry and capital market experience, including ten years in BC, will be taking on the role of President and CEO on an interim basis until a permanent replacement has been found. "The Board thanks Reynold for leading Western through a difficult four years," says John MacIntyre, Chairman. "Reynold oversaw our acquisition of Cascadia Forest Products and the Englewood Division of Canfor and has been a key contributor to the Company. Dominic's strong experience will assure a solid transition until a successor has been selected. A search for a permanent CEO will be led by Dominic and the Board." Western is an integrated Canadian forest products company and the largest woodland operator and lumber producer on the British Columbia coast. Western has an annual available harvest of approximately 7.5 million cubic meters of which 7.3 million cubic meters is from Crown lands and 200,000 cubic meters is from private timberlands.
