Pulp and paper producer Petrocart from Piatra Neamt, north-eastern Romania, posted first half net profit of RON197 024 (Euro 56 000), at a turnover of RON11 114 470 (Euro 3.17 million), Bursa daily reported. According to the newspaper, over 2000-2005, in order to meet the European Union integration requirements, the company invested more than Euro 2 000 000 for the upgrading of its production flux and the introduction of new technologies translated into a reduction of water consumption and environmental protection. Petrocart Co. is producing special cardboard for transformers and electrical devices supplied both on the internal market and abroad, being the sole producer in Romania of this type of special cardboard. As well, it produces duplex-triplex cardboard that found clients on the national market and abroad, having in the latest three years a weight of 20-30% in the company's turnover. Petrocart's shareholders are the Employees Association - 43.47%, SIF Banat-Crisana - 28.54% and natural persons - 27.99%, the source added.
