Round wood export duty rise to increase LHK Cherepovecles costs by Euro 2 million in 2006 – CFO

Oct 20, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Round wood export duty rise will result in additional assessments of Euro 2 million in 2006 and Euro 3 million in 2007– LHK Cherepovecles CFO Andrew Nechaev said. Russian ministry of economic development and trade offered to fix export duty single rate on fuel wood and logs at the rate 6.5% of customs value, but no less than Euro 4 for cubic meter from January 1, 2006. According to decision of commission on protective measures in foreign trade and customs’ tariff policy logs export rate of duty except softwood pulpwood will be 10% of customs value, but no less than Euro 6 for cubic meter from January 1, 2007.
