Russian Cherepovetsles enterprises reported timber production up 2% to 551,2 thousand cub m within 4 months in 2004 compared with the prior period in 2003, Cherepovetsles public-affairs told Lesprom.ru. Logs removal increased 5% to 628,2 thousand cub m within 4 months in 2004 compared with the prior period in 2003. Cross-cutting increased 12% to 594 thousand cub m, round timber production – up 11% to 464,4 thousand cub m, sawn timber – up 31% to 26 thousand cub m, commodity products – up 19%. Assortment timber production increased 37% to 151,1 thousand cub m within 4 months in 2004 compared with the prior period in 2003.
