Segezha Group's Salsk mill expands industrial packaging production in 1Q

In Q1 2020, branch of Segezha Packaging LLC, asset of Segezha Group in Salsk, Rostov region, Russia doubled its production output. The mill produced 37.5 million industrial sacks and 3.8 million consumer bags, versus 18.9 million and 2.06 million in the same period of the previous year, respectively.

A new semi-automatic Windmöller & Hölscher line for industrial packaging production was installed in late 2019 at Salsk mill. The capacity amounts to 83 million units. The company invested over RUB 500 million ($7.3 million) in this project.

An overall amount of RUB 2 billion ($29 million) has been invested in the Salsk mill, 90 jobs were created. We are confident that the project is mutually beneficial for the company and the region,” commented Igor Timofeev, member of the Board, Vice President and Director of the Paper and Packaging Division.

The Salsk mill sustainably ramps up its industrial packaging production volumes: 55 million units in 2016, 65 million in 2017, 78 million in 2018, and over 81 million in 2019.
