Sofidel America will invest in a new tissue production line to expand its ultra-premium tissue capacity in the United States. The company will install a Through-Air-Dried (TAD) tissue line featuring advanced automation and control technologies, according to Valmet, the equipment supplier.

The new tissue line will have a width of 5.6 meters and an annual production capacity of 75 thousand tons. The system is optimized for fiber savings and improved product quality.

Valmet’s delivery scope includes a complete tissue production line with Mill Engineering and stock preparation equipment. The line will use an Advantage ThruAir 200 machine.

Automation systems in the project include a Distributed Control System with integrated machine condition monitoring, a Quality Control System, and a Web Monitoring System. Flow control, Industrial Internet applications, and Performance Center services for predictive quality and process optimization are also included.

The new line is scheduled to start up in the second quarter of 2028. Sofidel currently operates 20 tissue lines, including one that started up in Circleville, Ohio, in September 2025.
