Sonae Indústria begins consultations regarding the reorganization of its affiliated company Isoroy, SAS

Sonae Indústria, SGPS, SA announces that its affiliated company Isoroy S.A.S has entered into consultations with its employee representatives regarding the reorganization of part of its industrial and commercial operations in France. Isoroy SAS operates 6 plants and has a headcount of 791, Sonae Indústria said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. The recurrent overcapacity installed in the French market relative to the local demand is a well known issue. The current economic climate and the downturn in the construction and furniture industries have added to historical difficulties and resulted in the need of restructuring operations in France, the company said. “It is therefore necessary to contemplate the closure of two plants in order to adapt company to the market demand”, the company said.
