Portuguese wood processing company Sonae Industria will be the new member of the country's stock exchange Euronext Lisbon's benchmark PSI-20 index as of July 1, 2006, according to Jornal de Negocios. Sonae Industria will replace media company Media Capital. Sonae Industria is majority owned by the local retail-to-telecoms holding group Sonae SGPS, which is also traded on PSI-20. The index includes another company of the Sonae SGPS universe, namely its telecoms and Internet arm Sonaecom. PSI-20 is composed of Portugal's best traded companies. The PSI-20 revision is made on the basis of the companies' liquidity, based on the statistical information related to a six-month period. The waiting list of the 10 companies which are best positioned to enter the PSI-20 index is prepared every month.
