Swedspan Group aquired French particle board company Société Industrielle et Financière Isoroy

Apr 22, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. The Swedspan Group has acquired French chipboard producer Société Industrielle et Financiére Isoroy to help ensure the long-term supply of raw materials for IKEA’s flat-pack furniture business, as TTJ reported. The Lure-based company, formerly part of Isoroy, the French subsidiary of Sonae Indústria, now becomes Swedspan France. “The integration of Lure fits perfectly into our overall strategy of building important particleboard capacities for supporting growth of IKEA’s furniture suppliers,” said Swedspan CEO Christian Schwarz. “Related to this, Swedpsan is particularly focusing on serving the demand for lightweight and low-emission boards.” The company will also continue to supply third-party customers. Swedspan is planning long-term investments, especially to facilitate the production of lightweight and low-emission boards. The group now has four chipboard production sites across Europe. An ultra-thin HDF manufacturing plant will be constructed in Poland soon.
