Aug 31, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Tetra Pak Espana, the Spanish arm of Swedish packaging company Tetra Pak AB, posted sales of Euro 496.6 million in 2004, a 6.4% year-on-year increase, the Tetra Pak Espana said on August 29, 2005. The increase in sales was chiefly due to the 4.3% increase of the number of Tetra Pak packages sold in Spain to 5.9 billion units and the restructuring of the company. The sales of Tetra Pak packages per capita in Spain totalled 136 units, compared to 132 units in 2003. The general director of Tetra Pak Espana, Adolfo Orive, pointed out that the company had recycled more Tetra Pak products and had significantly cut the consumption of paper, aluminium, polyethylene, inks and electricity, while water consumption increased. Tetra Pak Espana comprises Tetra Pak Hispania and Tetra Pak Envases and has a total 502 employees.
