Vietnam Tayshon will take part in construction of timber plant in Irkutsk region. The start of construction is scheduled for Sep-Oct 2003. The Irkutsk JSC Baikal House will also take part in the project, the Novosibirsk FIS reports. The agreement was reached when Vietnam was visited by the regional administration and Baikal House in Feb 2003. The agreement on cooperation is to be signed in the second half of May 2003. The Vietnam company is going to buy stake of Baikal House. Then participation of the regional administration in the project will be finalized. The preliminary value of the project is $18-20mln. The plant will process up to 250.000 cu m of timber, the annual volume of lumber will total 100-120.000 cu m. Bulk of the volume will be shipped to Vietnam.
