Volvo delivered 28 haulers to the Bratsk affiliate of Ilim Group

Mar 16, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Bratsk affiliate of IlimSibLes LLC (Irkutsk region, Russia, harvesting division of Ilim Group) received 28 Volvo haulers with Doll semitrailers. These transportation units were delivered within the framework of the forest investment program implementation of Ilim Group launched in 2008, as Ilim Group press service reported Lesprom Network. The company plans to use new machinery in timber removal. Drivers went through a special training in order to operate these new trucks. Usage of new transportation units will enable to increase considerably operational efficiency, to decrease timber harvesting cost,and to improve drivers’ working conditions and safety, as said in the statement. On the whole, presently timber harvesting enterprises of Ilim Group in Bratsk municipality have received 166 machinery and transportation units. Among them are harvesters, forwarders, skidders, loaders, auto refuellers, bulldozers, and auto graders. In the coming months an additional delivery of four timber loaders Kesla based on Russian KamAZ trucks is expected, a bit later eight tree trunk transporters Volvo will be delivered. In the framework of the investment program of forest machinery procurement for Ilim Vostok business unit, in 2008 Ilim Group purchased 91 timber transporters SISU for operations in Ust-Ilimsk municipality of Irkutsk region. Forest investment program for Ilim Vostok business unit entails delivery of more than 350 forest machinery and transportation units in 2008–2009, out of which about 300 are already received by Ilim Group enterprises. The rest of the machinery will be delivered within the few coming months.
