Jun 16, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. West Fraser Timber Co said on Monday it will temporarily idle three of its British Columbia sawmills as lumber markets continue to sag, Reuters reports. The Houston, 100 Mile and Chasm sawmills will be down for at least two weeks starting at the end of June, although the actual restart time will depend on market conditions, the company said. West Fraser did not say how much lumber production would be reduced by the shutdowns or how many workers would be idled.
