AFA Forest Products purchases Lighthouse Lumber Wholesalers

Aug 24, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. AFA Forest Products Inc. headquartered in Bolton, Ontario announced that it has purchased Lighthouse Lumber Wholesalers Ltd. with head offices in Halifax NS.
The purchase of Lighthouse Lumber completes AFA's goal of becoming a national distributor with branches from Vancouver, BC to St. Johns, NFLD. Lighthouse Lumber currently has branches in Moncton, Halifax and St. Johns. It is AFA's intention to continue to maintain branches in these centers and will expand on its commodity and allied products.
Al Jack, president of AFA also announced that 20-year-industry veteran John Morrissey will head up the newly acquired division as general manager. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Morrissey was vice president, TIM-BR MARTS Ltd where he was responsible for the Atlantic Canada region.
Jean Laflamme, founder of Lighthouse Lumber, has agreed to stay on indefinitely in a senior advisory role.
"I believe that Lighthouse is the perfect fit for AFA," said Al Jack. "It completes our picture nationally and opens up an incredible amount of possibilities. I am very pleased to have Morrissey and Laflamme on board and I couldn't be more excited about our future."
