Aug 27, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Abitibi Consolidated's sulphite plant was torn down on Tuesday in Kenora, Ontario, ForestTalk reported.
The old recycling plant and a couple of warehouses are the only other remaining buildings still standing on the mill property.
Hundreds of people gathered to watch the demolition. Former Mill employee Rob Lindstrom says it was sad to see one of Kenora's oldest mills be dismantled.
