Jan 12, 2009. /Lesprom.com/. Arjowiggins has announced a price increase of up to 10% on its coated papers in reels and sheets in order to "restore its profitability," Lesprom Network informed according to the PrintWeek.
“We gave notice to our customers of the likelihood of a price increase in 2009 when we were discussing the September increase," said David Cook, sales and marketing director UK and Eire, Arjowiggins Graphic and Communication Products
“There is no doubt that the pressure on raw material and energy costs has subsided, or even reversed, but on balance we are still dramatically short of an adequate return on business in the UK," Cook said. "There is also little doubt that the continuing weakness of sterling on the foreign exchange markets has done nothing to ease the situation,” he added.
