Belarus Republic plans to increase volume of sales of standing wood trough exchange, head of economy and investments department of the forestry ministry Vasiliy Kozlov said. He noted that in 2007 issue of licenses on logging activities will go on (as of January 1 more than 1 000 licenses were issued). “At present, in total volume of timber felling share of forestry ministry enterprises is more than 50%, of Bellesbumprom concern – 18-20%, the rest accounts for others. This proportion will further remain”, Kozlov said. According to the deputy forestry minister Nikolay Yushkevich, sales of forest resources trough exchange will allow minimizing corruption in sphere of timber cutting. “When the forest is sold at exchange all is clear, other prices. But since August 2006 few raw material was displayed for sale at exchange, provoking price increase to the level exceeding the world one. To improve situation we display for sale more than 200 000 tonnes of raw material on January 25”, Yushkevich said.
