Construction of a million-tonne environmental friendly paper production base has started by Yuexiu Guangzhou Paper Group in Nansha district of Guangzhou, south China’s Guangdong province, CEIS reported. With a total investment of CNY 7.5 billion ($940.5 million), the project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2011. Upon completion, it will become the biggest newsprint production base in China. Work on constructing will be divided into three stages, of which the first-phase construction, involving an investment of some CNY 2 billion ($250.8 million), is expected to be finished at 2007 yearend.
