Dec 05, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. Canfor Corp said on Wednesday it will shut its Chetwynd sawmill in British Columbia early next year for an indefinite period, affecting 188 jobs. The company blamed poor lumber markets and a high Canadian dollar. Canfor said the sawmill, which has an annual capacity of 244 million board feet of production, would be closed in late January or early February once existing log inventories are depleted and finished products shipped.
