Donna Harman appointed new AF&PA president and CEO

Jun 26, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. The board of directors of the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) announced on June 25, 2007 the appointment of Donna A. Harman as the new president and CEO of the Association.
Ms. Harman joined AF&PA in 2001 as vice president of congressional affairs. She was promoted to senior vice president, policy and government affairs in 2006, leading the Association’s lobbying and policy efforts. Ms. Harman has 25 years of management, policy, and political experience, having worked for two Fortune 500 corporations and the U.S. House of Representatives.
AF&PA board chairman Jim Rubright, chairman and CEO of Rock-Tenn Company, said: “Donna’s ability to communicate complex issues and help our industry leaders reach consensus is vital for our industry”.
“These abilities, combined with her knowledge of how decisions are made in Washington, will continue to advance the policy objectives for the industry.”
Ms. Harman holds a bachelors degree in public affairs from Anderson University and a law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, the American Society of Association Executives, and the Society of American Foresters. She also serves as secretary-treasurer of the Forest Products Industry National Labor Management Committee.
The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) is the national trade association of the forest, pulp, paper, paperboard, and wood products industry.
