Sep 06, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. The production of newsprint in Sweden is about 2,5 billion tonnes annually, and in Germany about 2 billion tonnes. About 84% of the newsprint produced in Sweden in 2009 was exported, the Finnish Forest Industries Federation said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. In total, the newsprint production in Europe is about 10 billion tonnes annually. In Finland, newsprint is produced by Stora Enso in Varkaus, and UPM in Jämsänjokilaakso. The share of newsprint in the forest industry's production in Finland is only some percents.
