Fraser Papers Inc. announced on October 12 the temporary shutdown of its two sawmill operations located in Plaster Rock and Juniper, New Brunswick, beginning October 14, 2006, due to weak market conditions. The company expects the shutdown to be two weeks in duration depending on market conditions. This temporary shutdown affects approximately 340 employees.
